I Am Cherokee
I will no longer listen to white mans words of mistrust.
I will no longer listen to white mans heart and ways
For I am Cherokee
I will listen to the wind for Grandfather to speak
I will seek under ever rock and leaf for the things he taught my people.
I will let my heart sing with his joys and blessings
I will receive all his gifts and paint with all the colors of the wind.
I will keep my eyes wide open and my heart pure
I will stand proud as I walk on our Mother Earth
I will listen to the voices of all my ancestors
I will honor Grandfather by walking the Red Road
I Will always remain humble so that I may see that he shows
I will give Thanks to Grandfather for each step of the way.
For I Am Cherokee
