Flowers from the Heart

by Douglas Gravestock

Press the lovely rose then hold it to your lips Let the red of the rose fill your lips with warmth Then brush the red tulips across your cheeks Let the colour of the tulips bring a blush to your face Now hold the lovely flowers close against your heart The warmth you feel in the flowers is so very real I have filled the flowers with my love and desire Keep the flowers near until I can caress your cheeks Softly hold the rose by your lips till mine cover yours Until the kiss of my lips and my caress of your cheeks Fill your heart with love, a love so very deep Now wait for soon I will stand near you Even though I am miles away My love is always there
